Rejuran

What is Rejuran?

Rejuran is a family of polynucleotide (PN)-based products made by PharmaResearch. The manufacturer describes certain fish-derived PN injectables as devices for temporary improvement of facial wrinkles. Versions such as Rejuran, Rejuran i and Rejuran s should not be treated as identical. PN and PDRN should not be used as interchangeable terms for every formulation. [1]

What does research show?

In a randomised PN/HA comparison involving 27 participants, some skin measurements favoured PN, while overall aesthetic assessments did not differ significantly between groups. A 2026 Rejuran study involving 25 women evaluated an adjunct after radiofrequency microneedling. It does not establish the same results for Rejuran alone or for every site. These studies do not guarantee permanent rejuvenation. [2] [3]

Who and which areas may be suitable?

Fine-line or skin-appearance concerns, medical history and the product’s intended use are assessed together. Product selection and anatomy are particularly important in delicate areas, including around the eyes. Discuss the animal source, any fish or ingredient allergy, medicines, active skin conditions, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Suitability cannot be inferred from the product name alone.

Sessions, effects and differences from other treatments

Session number, interval and quantity depend on the product version and examination. A result after one session or a fixed duration cannot be promised to everyone. Rejuran does not have the same aim as botulinum toxin treatment targeting muscle activity or fillers intended primarily to add volume. Needs and alternatives require separate assessment.

Possible reactions and follow-up

Pain, redness, bruising, swelling and temporary small bumps may occur after injection. Infection, allergy or persistent symptoms should also be discussed. Absence of serious events in studies does not prove freedom from risk for every product and person. Seek prompt medical assessment for increasing pain, skin colour change, fever or visual symptoms.
