What is nose filler?

Nose filler is an injection procedure intended to camouflage certain contour irregularities in selected individuals. As it adds material, it does not make the nose smaller or reshape bone and cartilage. It does not replace assessment of breathing problems or surgical rhinoplasty.

Who may be considered?

Nasal anatomy, skin, previous filler or surgery and expectations require examination. Not every hump, asymmetry or tip concern is suitable for filler. A clinician may recommend no intervention or a surgical opinion. Discuss the product, intended site, alternatives and follow-up before deciding. [1]

Does approval guarantee safety?

No. Approval for one use does not mean suitability for every anatomical site. The FDA does not list injection into the nose as an approved filler use in the United States. This is US regulatory information; the product and intended use in Türkiye require separate assessment. “FDA-approved, therefore harmless” is not an accurate statement. [2]

Risks and urgent warning signs

Bruising, redness, swelling, pain, asymmetry or nodules may occur. Infection and allergic reactions are possible. Injection into a vessel or compromised circulation can cause tissue loss, loss of vision and other serious complications, which may be permanent. Do not wait for a routine review if severe or unusual pain, skin blanching/darkening or visual changes occur; seek emergency medical help. [2]

Duration and aftercare

Duration varies with the product and the individual; one fixed period does not apply to everyone. Early swelling does not represent the final result. Follow the clinician’s aftercare and review plan. Repeat injections and corrective treatment also involve risks. It should not be claimed that every unwanted outcome can be easily and completely reversed. [2]

Frequently asked questions

Will it make my nose smaller?

No. Filler adds volume and may camouflage certain contour differences.

Can it be called safer than surgery?

That comparison cannot be made for everyone without individual assessment. Non-surgical does not mean risk-free.

Can the filler be dissolved?

For hyaluronic acid fillers, a clinician may consider a dissolving treatment. Fillers differ, and dissolving treatment is neither risk-free nor a guarantee that every complication can be reversed.
